While buying heavy equipment at auction can be a great way to save money, there are also risks involved. Making a poor decision when purchasing used machines could cost you a lot of time and money. Here are some tips to reduce risks and get a good deal.

Inspect Equipment Before You Buy

Some things to look for during your walkaround include:

  • Rust or cracks
  • Bad Engine Exhaust
  • Tire Wear
  • Signs of Poor Maintenance
  • Large Repair Needs
  • Presence of Welding

You’re always welcome to come in to view the equipment on our lot. You don’t need an appointment to inspect auction items. Inspections are allowed Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm EST. If the machine is offsite, give us a call and we’ll help you arrange a preview with the seller.

Purchase Equipment From a Reputable Seller

We have over 30 years of experience in the auction industry. The equipment we sell is provided by organizations and businesses that we trust. We understand that making a large purchase at an auction can be intimidating. That is why we guarantee open and honest communication regarding every item we have listed.

All information about each machine is provided in the auction description. If you have questions about any of the heavy equipment we have listed, please don’t hesitate to send us an email or give us a call.

WHEN BUYING EQUIPMENT Leave A Money Trail

We accept cash, checks, money orders, bank wires, and credit cards. When you pay for your equipment, we’ll send you a copy of your receipt. Having paperwork to prove your transaction will come in handy if the equipment you bought arrives in a condition other than what you expected. It can also be beneficial when submitting documents to the government.

Let us know if you need proof of purchase in the future.

Check For a Clean Title

We can’t sell heavy equipment if the title is in a bank or financer’s name. It needs to be paid for in full by the previous owner to be listed. Before listing equipment, we always confirm ownership. Our office is available to answer questions about titles.

Set a Budget

Do some research to find out what the machine is worth. Consider the machine’s make and model, its operating time, and its depreciation value. These factors will help you decide how much to bid.

All heavy equipment available for auction this month will be listed in our April Day 1 catalog. Pre-bidding starts April 12 @ 10am EST. Final bids for the auction will be accepted on April 26 starting @ 10am EST.
