HiBid is one of the bidding platforms we use to host our live and online auctions. The platform was updated recently, and we thought it would be helpful to share some of the changes with you.
New Look
If you’ve bid with us before, you’re familiar with the black and white catalog pages our auctions used to have. In the update, our HiBid profile got a new purple theme. If you’re unsure whether or not you’re on the official Compass Auctions HiBid page, make sure that our logo is at the top of the webpage.
If it is, you’re in the right place. If not, go back to soldoncompass.com and click on auctions in the top menu to be taken to our auction calendar. Auction links in the calendar will take you directly to the respective auction catalog on HiBid.
Bidding Issues
If you’ve ever updated your phone or computer and noticed that some programs aren’t running as smooth as they used to, then you know that sometimes updates come with bugs. Bidders have been encountering some issues with the platform since the update. Things to look out for when you bid include:
- Missing Bids
- The platform might lose track of how much you bid.
- Unlabeled Reserve Items
- We always make sure that items that have a set reserve price have a “reserve not met” or “reserve met” label. These labels may be missing on some lots.
- Error Messages
- Some users are receiving a message that says “oops there was a problem” when trying to place their bid.
Be mindful that not every bidder’s account is experiencing these issues. But for those who are, HiBid is working hard to address all the problems that came from the update.
