Mission 22 Benefit Auction

Compass is honored to be hosting an online-only auction to benefit Mission 22, an organization that provides support and resources for Veterans and military families. This auction will feature a selection of collectibles and memorabilia including an autographed football from Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino and two signed guitars from country stars Travis Tritt and Grammy award winner Tim McGraw. There will also be two exclusive firearms – a Sig Sauer pistol and F1 firearm – that can only be sold to Marines, Marine Veterans, or a Gold Star Family member. PRE-BIDDING OPEN SEPTEMBER 9 • 12 PM ET

During World War I, families of active-duty service members in the United States Armed Forces displayed service banners in the windows of their homes to symbolize a family member serving in the conflict. A blue star was used to represent the family member serving. When a service member was reported as deceased, a golden star was placed within the blue star on the banner, hence the term “Gold Star Family.” Today parents, spouses, and children of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation proudly don a purple and gold lapel pin to commemorate their loved ones.
